By signing this petition, you join our cause to try to get HarperTeen/Alloy to let LJ Smith to be the one to write the rest of The Vampire Diaries books.
HarperTeen/Alloy may have hired LJ Smith to write the series for her back in the 90's, but the books are created by her, and The Vampire Diaries are what they are because of her. We love them because of what LJ Smith created, and there is no way anyone else can continue what she started.

    • It's disgusting that L.J Smith is no longer allowed to continue writing an amazing series of books. The Vampire Diaries is her concept and is a fabulous read because of her writing style. It is her product and so she should be able to write the characters in whichever way she sees fit! I will certainly not be purchasing any further Vampire Diaries books unless LJ Smith has written them. Stefan's diaries books were a total joke!

    • I read The Vampire Diaries for the same reason I have read almost all of L.J. Smith's books: because of the unique and refreshing style in which L.J. Smith writes them! It holds my attention, somehow, even when other books are failing to. Without L.J. Smith to write it: That feel and tone about the way the books are written will be lost. The last thing I want to see is for a series--which has held my attention through so many books already--to suddenly lose it's ability to keep me reading even when every other book I pick up is seeming such a struggle to sit through from start to finish. PLEASE; Let her finish what she began!

    • From growing up with L.J Smith's books I love the act that they have been made into tv series but why take the right from L.J Smith to further on the two greatest books I have read (The Vampire Diaries and The Secret Circle) I know I will never read anything further of The Vampire Diaries and The Secret Cricle as without L.J Smiths words it is simply not the same. And I think how they have published the new Vampire Diaires books is disgusting putting L.J Smiths name in bold then tiny tiny writing stating it is not by her is disgusting if you want to sell the book under her name then get her to write them! Because she is the one who got you were you are now her ideas her characters her plot and she should have charge or a say or at least a look in! I hope this petion does get people to listen and know the truth!!!
