    • There is no reason why responsible dog owners should not be able to avail of the new park. With responsible dog owners any fouling is removed!

    • My friend who was visiting me last week is a very responsible dog owner and her dog is very well trained. She never leaves the house without a pack of poo bags with her and while I was at the hospital with my son last week she decided to take the dog for a walk to the park but realised he was not allowed in the park. Not everyone is irresponsible. Come on think of people who REALLY love their animals

    • Why not open a fenced "Dog Park" in the park?

    • I feel very strongly if you are a responsible dog owner then you have as much right to use the town park as everyone else.

    • As long as by-laws are enforced re fouling, I see no reason to ban dogs from the parks. Responsible owners will pick up after their dogs, and feel free to fine those who don't, just as litterers would be fined. There is currently nowhere away from roads to walk dogs in Letterkenny.

    • I believe having a public park where dogs are allowed (while under control by their owners) may make it easier for responsible dog owners to walk and socialise their pets. I feel it will also encourage people to become more responsible dog owners if they have to abide by these sort of rules.

    • I think that a fine for those who do not clean up their dogs mess is a good idea as this helps to promote being a responsible dog owner too. Also maybe there could possibly be a doggy bag dispenser by the entrance to the park in case anyone happens to forget or use all their dog bags

    • I have 3 dogs at home and would love to be able to take them to the park.It is quite hard to find a place to walk dogs anywhere near the town usually as many of the footpaths are to busy to bring a dog.

    • Parks all over the world are open to dog owners, across the border too, why not Donegal? All dog owners I know would never allow their dogs to foul.
