BMX in publicskate park

As a 30 year old Harrison county resident and BMX rider i a public skate park should be just that. To let one "group" of people in and not the next is discrimnation.To open a park of this type and refuse entry or limit entry is biased and not right. The national norm is to not let bikes in because they are more damaging than skateboards.How is one more damaging than the other. These ideas are unfounded and are not proven. As a taxpayer i would like to ride the benefits of my county trying to do something positive for the youth.

    • Let's ignore the fact that there are plenty of other skateparks in this country that have allowed bikes for years with no problems, and pretend that allowing bikes in the park would tear up 1 piece of masonite per week. Assuming that there would be an average of 3 riders per day: (3 bike riders per day x $10 per session x 7 days a week) - the cost of a sheet of masonite = Wow, even under those preposterous circumstances, the park would still profit. Go figure.

    • I run LouisianaBMX.com. The south has a thriving BMX community and can really use a good skatepark. My site gets nearly 200 hits a day from folks that would love to have a public park to ride.

    • BMX is just as dangerous as Skateboarding, It should be allowed. If BMXing isn't allowed, then Skateboarding shouldn't be either. It's only fair. Don't punish us, because we grew a liking for BMX and not for Skateboarding.

    • I think they should let BMX in. Basicly yes pegs do hurt ramps sometimes so do skateboard wheels i used to skate i've put skateboard wheels through a ramp. So its not the damage. LET BMX INTO THESE "SKATE"PARKS!
