I hereby state that, as a past or future Meridian 59 player, I would prefer the game switch to a system where accounts are free but donations can buy items and services.

I believe this will increase the longevity of the game.

I believe that Meridian 59 can sustain a population large enough to survive on donations.

I believe that the subscription-based model has finally expired, resulting in a year-round empty game. I believe that Meridian cannot compete with subscription MMOs like World of Warcraft, but I believe that Meridian can compete on even or superior terms with games that have the proposed new business model.

Please save our favorite game.

    • Wake up. You are using a business model that is 15 years old. Things have changed since the mid-90's folks.

    • I enjoy this game very much, but I want to see it come alive again and I believe this is the only way.

    • i am a marketing guy, and a player for over 4 years on and off. This is the way to succeed with this game, the subscription based model will kill it....again.

    • In this day and age, there is no reason this game cannot be served for free with donations.

    • This game has so much potential. By the game, I mean the story of the game and its playability.

    • I had this idea a long time ago. Charge for in-game items, shil, and leveling. Get rid of the grind that makes this game horrible and focus on the pvp battles. Nice work.

    • Ad a Google Ad Sense module or something. I would play again. 11 bucks a month isn't going to bring in new customers when other MMOs are cheaper and look better

    • I use to play and LOVE M59, but the price for it now discourages me due to knowing about the low populations and everyone having multiple built chars (who ahve a thing for pk'ing people just starting out, atleast when i tried to come back with friends) If it was free to play but there was donnations and some things you can purchase ingame i have no doubt that NDS would most likly make more of a profit becuase more people will play and mroe people will enjoy themselfs, the happier they are the more willing they are going to be to donate adn buy things from you. Hell perhaps make the 1st account free adn 2nd one cost somthing (since everyone plays with 2+ accounts) Anyway that would encourage some PERMANANT growth would be great. Me and my father beta tested M59 from teh 3DO days and would love to come back to it.
