This petition has been drafted, to ensure that the mainstream media is held accountable in its promise to present "fair and balanced coverage," "unembedded journalism," "complete election coverage," and every other exorbitant but empty rhetoric that has been used as a bumper sticker throughout - and beyond - this electoral season. As supporters of Cynthia McKinney and Rosa Clemente, we are demanding that the networks and companies of ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, MSNBC, FOX News, Huffington Post and other mainstream news-outlets, spend quality time in enlightening their viewership of the full swath of presidential candidates that this historical race has procreated. We feel that it is both disingenuous and immoral, for corporate News-Networks to fail in their responsibility to be truthful and factual in reporting the accounts of the 2008 Presidential Race. If these News Networks have no shame in drifting off topic - quite frequently - to shed commentary on light-hearted subject matters such as, Senator Obama's Bowling abilities, to Senator Clinton's SNL appearances, to Senator McCain's Wife's "Cookie Scandal," they must be just as impassioned in promoting the agendas and political-platforms that the McKinney/Clemente ticket is proposing. This petition is a reflection of years of disenchantment with the corporate media, and its unique brand of mendacity fused with mediocrity. With an effort in solidarity, we hope to force the prime-time TV Networks to hearken to our call and render more nutritional programming to its audience.
