We the undersigned oppose the recent MLB deal with Spider-Man 2 to put commercial advertisements on the bases, as well as all other "in the field of play" advertisements. This petition does not dispute the presence of other forms of advertising in and around the stadium; however, we believe that in this historic game, which is symbolized by its field's consistent and timeless appearance, there is no place for commercial advertisements in the field of play.

We call upon Major League Baseball to reverse course on this decision, and refrain from introducing advertisements into the field of play.

    • It's time to get rid of Bud Selig once and for all. He is a disgrace to baseball. Same with Kathleen Fineout(Director of Marketing for MLB). Call Ms. Kathleen and tell her what you think of her great idea to make a few more profits at the expense of the game 212-931-7882

    • this is the most ridiculous thing i have ever heard. what is the point? the bases are part of the game of baseball, not a movie billboard. you open the door for spiderman 2, then other movies will want to do it. keep the movie ads OFF off the bases. what's next? ads added to baseball uniforms?
