Recently, Sapulpa Public Schools in Sapulpa, Oklahoma have made it against school policy to wear and listen to anything ICP related. This is not only taking away freedom of speech, but our freedom of expression. Their only means of supporting this rule is that they believe ICP is "gang affiliated." This takes away both our freedom of expression and ICP's freedom of speech as such:

1. Our freedom to express ourselves as Juggalos. Because we consider all Juggalos to be family, we are considered a gang. If we are to go by this example, your very families are gangs. We have the right to support ICP, just as our school has the right to support our football team. ICP does not endorse a gang known as ICP. ICP is a band.

2. ICP has a right to freedom of speech under the 1st Amendment. Speech is not limited to words spoken, but words recorded, written, and shown through symbolism. To tell us that we cannot wear ICP related material, and that we cannot listen to ICP takes away their freedom of recorded speech.

Stop our school system from slowly revoking the rights that we as Americans are entitled to.

    • I am 53 years old, have been married to the same person for 32 years, have a very bright and articulate son who just happens to listen to ICP. As a stay at home mom while he was growing up, all the boys that I drove to school (I was the only stay at home mom) listened to ICP and so it was always playing in my cd player in the car. When they explained who ICP was and what they stood for, I had no problem with them listening to it, besides the fact that they were straight A students and could think for themselves. I to this day love listening to ICP and I have probably 35-40 of their t-shirts that I wear to my job every day. This is not a gang, it is a music group that stands for the kids that have been picked on their whole lives, the outsiders. We have all been there and understand what it's like to be picked on day in and day out and it's nice to see a group not just be there for the "beautiful people". As far as their concerts and "The Gathering", this is entertainment people..., these people are husbands, dads and they go home to their families just like the rest of us. There are always a handful of people that are going to do stupid things, or violent things and you can't blame them just because of a shirt they wear or the music they listen to.

    • I am both a juggalo and a supporter of American's rights. You don't understand how many of our rights have already been taken away. Our rights are being eroded away little by little so you don't realize just how much you have lost. But once you start taking rights away from one group of people, it makes it that much easier to take away everyone's rights. Don't let this continue to happen. If you don't want your kids to listen to this music or wear these clothes, that is your right as a parent. But don't let the gov't, whether it be "big brother" or just your local school district tell you how to be a parent. Hopefully you knew this before you became parents.
