We, the IT professionals of Hyderabad traveling by the MMTS trains daily, hereby voice our concerns over the problems in the services provided. We would like to bring to your notice the following issues that we face daily.

Less frequency of trains during peak hours.
Road connectivity between stations and important destinations. (Hitec City, Kothaguda, Gachibowli etc.)
No basic facilities and amenities in most of the railway stations (toilets, drinking water etc.)
Single ticket counters during peak hours.
No proper security measures

Between Kacheguda and Lingampally, from 7am to 9am and 5pm to 7pm there are only 2 trains. With this limited frequency during peak hours, its becoming increasingly difficult to travel even by MMTS due to over-crowding. Most of the stations like Hitec City, do not have toilets and drinking water facilities though hundreds of us have to wait there for trains daily. Even during peak hours the officials operate only one counter to issue tickets and that too at a snail's pace. Though there are more machines available at some stations, they are not put to use for unknown reasons. The stations are not well connected to important destinations like Hitec City, Gachibowli etc where most of the IT professionals work. There are no proper bus services from the stations and we have to depend on the unreliable autos. Though Hyderabad has witnessed serious security threats of late, there hasn't been any security mechanisms in place at MMTS stations. Even night travel is not a very safe option for people who have to work late.

We request you to bring about the following changes to the existing services.

Increase the number of trains during peak hours to reduce over-crowding.
Introduce road services to connect stations and key locations.
Provide drinking water and sanitation facilities at stations.
Put the unused computers at stations into use for issuing tickets faster.
Install basic security mechanisms and personnel at stations to avoid and tackle any untoward incidents.

We, the undersigned, are IT professionals who contribute heavily to the countrys economy, working day-in and day-out. We sign this petition to urge the railway authorities and the Government to pursue the aforementioned issues and work towards providing solutions to the same.

(Once we reach around 3000 signatures, we can make a representation to the Indian Railway authorities about these issues.)

    • This is an issue that we all have been facing since a long time. Unless a step is taken forward there will be no change. Its time for all of us to take that first step.
