Revd Peter Mullen, a priest in the Anglican Diocese of London has published remarks on the internet which include: "Let us make it obligatory for homosexuals to have their backsides tattooed with the slogan SODOMY CAN SERIOUSLY DAMAGE YOUR HEALTH and their chins with FELLATIO KILLS." We believe these remarks are grossly offensive, and we call upon the Bishop of London to begin disciplinary proceedings against this priest.

    • As a gay Anglican, I find the comments of this priest utterly repugnant. One wonders where the love and compassion of the gospel of Christ features in his ministry.

    • Private thoughts and public acts are two very different expressions but would you place your Pastoral Care in this man's hands?

    • You are wrong about your facts and your idea will only breed discrimination and violence (which are hardly Christian values).

    • I find it very disturbing that anyone should write such abusive words - where is the love and compassion of Jesus ? Whatever his personal views, this is certainly not the way to express them. "Satirical" - I cannot accept that - "militant preaching" - I don't think so, seldom in my experience. He has caused a great deal of harm, ridcule of his faith and position amongst those who claim not to believe, and pain for those about whom he was making such comments. In no way could they be seen by any person of conscience as "humour".I do hope he is able to make a very public apology for his words, and seek to listen more carefully, and prayerfully to His Creator.

    • This would definitely fit under 'conduct unbecoming a clerk in holy orders'.

    • How this man dares to believe he is fit for any pastoral role beggars belief.

    • I think its disgusting that a man of god can show so little love and compassion towards gay people. One wonders whether he is the type of person that the church actually wants in office. He's a disgrace!

    • It shouldn't be allowed in this day and age and just goes to show how out of date his views are in the real world. The church should get rid of him.
