We, the mentioned Singapore Citizen, would like Prime Minister Lim Hsien Loong to consider extending the recently announced procreation benefits to parents to be for kids born from 1st August 2008 onwards instead of the announced 1st January 2009.
This would also reduce the stress faced by parents that would have their kid due in December 2008 and January 2009.

- Please do revised the implementation date. Also, what is the reason for adopted foreign babies to receive pro-rated enhance baby bonus based on conversion date and not their date of birth? If they are eligible for the pro-rated enhanced Baby Bonus, so should those who are expecting their babies in 2008. Please reconsider. Thanks

- the 1 month extra maternity leave is crucial for mother to care for the baby especially in their first year. Since PM have annouced on National Day Rally Speech without a date, he should not disappoint/upset Aug-Dec 08 mother-to-be ("MTB") which may increase the tendency of pre-natal blues. Many mothers-to-be are getting tense on this issue if you have went to motherhood forum, facebook etc because of PM's promise for extra benefits and then later slam us down with the 1/1/09 effective date. Please emphatize these group of Aug-Dec08 MTB.

- Yes, please do not ignore this group of Singaporeans who have heeded the govt's call earlier and started pro-creation earlier. Otherwise you are just sending a signal out there to all S'poreans to hold out and wait till futher incentives are announced before pro-creating.

- if the government backdated the implementation date to 1 Aug in 2004 for the extension of maternity leave from 8 weeks to 12 weeks. Why can't the government do it this time round? We really wish to spend more valuable time with our coming September new born .

- Can the bonus for 1st July - 31st Dec be pro-rated? Foreign babies are having pro-rated bonus, why not singaporean babies?

- Please revise the implementation date so that Sept - Dec 2008 parents to be can also benefit from this new policy. As it would be unfair for foreigners babies and those parents due in Jan 2009 who are about 4/5 months pregnant now to be eligible. Why then are we true singaporeans not eligible?? thanks

- In 2004, after the National Day Rally speech, the baby enhanced package was made effective from 1 Aug 04 and 1 Oct 2004. Why the inconsistency this time? What is the exact rationale behind the Government's decision to set the date of 1 Jan 09? Why made the announcement so early then? Aren't our babies to be delivered before 1 Jan 09 contributing to the Singapore Birth Rate? Are we not also facing the economic challenges?

- Please review the implementation date and packages for 2nd time mummy. The newly implemented package is not very encouraging for mummies due from Aug08-Dec08. And also second time mummy like myself. There hasn't been much changes for 2nd timer.

- Government has forgetten about the mummies to be till Dec 2008. Why are we being forsaken in terms of this package. If Government 's goal is to help increase birth rate. Aren't these mummies entitled to it? The mummies till Dec 2008 are not adding into the population? Is it because we are already pregnant? If government really want to help to increase birth rate, shouldn't it be targeting at women who are NOT YET pregnant and attract them with the enhanced package, If so, shouldn't be the package starts at June 2009 instead of Jan 2009. The package serve to help parents to bond with our children .. this is the reason why maternity leaves are prolong from 3-4 months. Does that mean that the 2008 mothers do not need to bond with their children? The enhance package of additional $3K + CDC $1K.. , meaning mummies at 2008 did not such amount to help our child? Government mentioned about inflation... So the 2008 mummies would not get affected by inflation ? I feel that this is totally unfair!!

- We welcome the notion of pro-create. But rather dissapointed of the policy to be implemented only 1 Jan 2009. Maybe, a review should be sought for at least Pro-rate basis for Singaporean's from Aug 08 - Dec 08.

- My daughter was born on 7th Aug and before her birth I've been hearing that the Government will increase benefits including the baby bonus. I thought that since it's a national day rally the baby bonus will be increased starting Aug. I support this petiton as I will get more baby bonus and the increase will help my family significantly as I'm a low income earner and my wife is not working. I also have a 1 yr old son.

- It is really a sad day for Singaporeans. Already Govt are treating "Foreign Talents" and Foreign Sportsman. Now even Foreign baby gets treated better than Singaporean baby. No wonder 2/3 Singaporeans want to migrate overseas.

- My baby is due in November 2008. Thus I missed the Baby bonus + Maternity leave by just 2 months! Does my baby not count, isn't he also contributing to Singapore's birth rates? I am dissappointed that all the polices are not in immediate effect, it makes me feel that we are are being sidelined. Please re-consider having immediate implementation for these policies.
