We, the undersigned, are greatly disheartened by the GGNRA's plan to close our beloved Musee Mecanique. This unique museum has added an uncomparable piece of history to our city. It has served as a setting for many of our memories, and should continue to provide such.
We adamantly oppose your plan to close this museum. The GGNRA will be doing the public of this and future generations the greatest injustice by kicking the Musee Muecanique out.
We implore you to find a home for this beloved San Francisco treasure. We ask you to search for common sense and recognize these voices of the Bay Area before you throw away an important piece of history, forever.

- When visting the Musee Mecanique several years ago, my father and I walked through as he showed me some of the games and toys from his child hood. Unlike most other standard museums, this one lead to my father and I having a discussion where I got to know who he had been as a child and a number of his experiences and memories of growing up. This is a unique place and one I would like to be able to visit with my own children in the future, please save the muse mecanique.

- I loved this place; I have such fond memories of going to the Musee Mecanique on dates, even into the mid 1980's.

- I have such fond Loving memorys of this place. With my parents and family. Friends and so fourth. There is no money that can be put on the cherished memorys. And of San Francisco as well. To me, anything that has historical to it in connection to The Best City in the world.Should remain. Thank you for the momeries of Love and Laughter.

- Please spare the Musee Mecanique folks. It is a priceless link to our past, as is the Cliff House, which I hear you are also contemplating eliminating. I have personally had indescribable pleasure in visiting both of these sites, and would miss them terribly if they were removed. I humbly suggest that we need to preserve, not "pave over" these national treasures, as they are important reminders of the past, which are irreplaceable. As we are cautioned by a philosopher, "Whomever does not learn from his history, is condemned to repeat it". We have lost too many historic landmark sites in your area and others throughout the world, to the speculator's and developer's "wrecking ball". We can afford to lose no more, or we run the risk of having "Strip Malls" be our only legacy. Let us learn by this history. This is an illusory and ill-conceived action, being taken in the name of "progress". Please desist in this tragic enterprise immediately. Thank you in advance, for your kind attention in this matter.

- the cliff house should be restored and preserved at all costs, preferably to that of what was before the 1907 fire. We owe that to the decendents and to our future.

- Many of my childhood memories exist at the Musee Mecanique. We need to save and maintain as much of SF historic landmarks as much as we can to remember who we are and the paths we have walked...2004

- I'm a 5th Generation San Franciscan and hate that each year brings the ruin of our historic and beloved institutions (e.g. Playland etc.). Please keep the Musee Mecanique, the camera obscura and other artifacts of Ocean Beach and of years gone by preserved here at the new Cliff House Restaurant. Also, it would be lovely if the tram would come back, I remember it too.

- I love this spot. It is the only place I have been in the US that truly made me felt like I took a step back in time. I am going back to California this month on vacataion and was planning to bring my children to CliffHouse and the Musee Mecanique. Please reconsider and save this wonderful desintation for locals and tourists.

- I'm from Alabama, I have never been past Texas. But I stumbled upon you're website and decided to put my signature on the ballot. Too many people want to tear stuff down instead of preserving it. I would like to visit this someday.
