We, the undersigned, are greatly disheartened by the GGNRA's plan to close our beloved Musee Mecanique. This unique museum has added an uncomparable piece of history to our city. It has served as a setting for many of our memories, and should continue to provide such.
We adamantly oppose your plan to close this museum. The GGNRA will be doing the public of this and future generations the greatest injustice by kicking the Musee Muecanique out.
We implore you to find a home for this beloved San Francisco treasure. We ask you to search for common sense and recognize these voices of the Bay Area before you throw away an important piece of history, forever.

- I have memories of a child going and putting coins in the machines to watch their magic. It would be a shame to lose such a treasure.

- I used to love Playland as a child in the 60's! At age 12, I moved to Sweden and have lived here ever since. I returned to visit at age 27, and I was touched and deeply moved by the fact that SOMEBODY had saved the old machines that I remembered as a child!! I could have slept there embracing the past... I now have children of my own, and we're coming to S.F. next year! I was planning on visiting the closed Cliff House, and the Musee Mecaniques amazing games of the past, especially Laughing Sally if she is still there?( I used to call her "Haha" when I was a child), among other places. Visiting this unique collection of nostalgia is like a warm hand that touches the little person inside everyone, and fills it with love. So please don't take our history or childhood memories away!!! Please?

- Musee Mecanique & Lunch was why I went to the Cliff House. Now it is just another restaurant. I do not need to go to San Francisco for another restaurant. I would bring visiting family members over to have lunch and enjoy the old memories of playland. Seems so many voted in members and business men that did not grow up here are all to willing to get rid of things that locals hold as great value. Do we not have any room for history anymore? Why a city that has such good museums is not willing to hold on to its past historic items baffles me. Playland is part of the citys history. Lets not be in such a hurry to bury our beloved memories.

- I was born and raised in San Francisco. Our history of this city needs to be saved. I now live in Idaho Falls, Idaho, but continue to keep up with San Francisco news and events. Playland and the Cliff House were part of my growing up there in the 1950's to 1960's teen years. Please don't let anything happen to our wonderful history.

- I remember the Musee Mecanique from when I moved to the Bay Area as a child in 1961. It was always one of my favorite stops. Now it seems the Chiff House renovation has made it just another modern, boring restaurant

- We can not continue to let our history be tossed out like yesterday's garbage. We must think of future generations who will enjoy learning our history. Not to mention the tourist who travel to our city. What would Europe have for us to see if they had demolished all the great architecture and museums? We have to be more vigilant in preserving our hertiage for future generations to enjoy.

- Dear "GGNRA"-- As a young boy growing up in my native OAKLAND, CA, I have fond memories of my grandmother taking me by KEY Train or SP Ferryboat to San Francisco to visit, on many occasions, Playland, Sutros, Fleischacker Zoo and POOL, and of course, the CLIFF HOUSE with the famous exhibits in the "Musee Mecanique".. This included a variety of coin-operated Pianos, band organs and other gadgets, including a scale model of an amusement park built by local 'convicts' out of millions of toothpicks.. This museum MUST be preserved for future generations to enjoy. Don't strip one of the last vestiges from usw of "Old San Francisco".. Preserve the "Musee Mechanique".. Thank you..

- I hardly recognize my home town. So much has either been renamed or plowed under. I am not at all sorry I left home and moved away. Wish I could see something firmilar if I were to go back for a visit. When I do drive through (my son lives there) I see a very sad dirty place.
