Background:
From the late 1930s and upto the early 1950s, the Madhva Vedanta Department functioned in the erstwhile Banaras Sanskrit College. By the mid-late 1950s, around the time the college became the Sampurnanand Sanskrit University, the Madhva Vedanta department had become defunct.

There has been no Madhva Vedanta Department in the university since.

We, the Madhva community and those interested in Madhva Vedanta hereby request and urge you to revive the Madhva Vedanta Department at Sampurnanand Sanskrit University, Varanasi.
