The Australian gamers demand Michael Atkinson (Attorney-General and Minister for Justice) cease holding back videogames on the grounds that they will harm children, and that an R18 rating be implemented, in order to avoid children under legal age purchasing them. By refusing to allow these games to be sold in Australia he is infringing upon the rights of legal adults to play them. There is NO valid reason not to have an R18 Rating for videogames in Australia, or any country for that matter, especially when many other countries do; England, Ireland, USA, Canada, Korea, Japan, Brazil, and Germany to name a few. The average age of Australian gamers is 28, so the vast majority of gamers are in fact above the age of 18, and by refusing to have an R18 rating for videogames, the government is losing money it could be making through the GST placed on the games, money that could do good elsewhere in education or healthcare. We the gamers of Australia, sincerely hope that the government bodies involved will see sense, and at the very least put it to a public vote, "YES" or "NO" to an R18 rating for videogames, so that the rights of the many thousnds of Australian adults are not getting stomped on by a single Minister.

- I feel insulted that I am denied the right, as a tax paying adult, to choose which games I play.

- This is an area that the average politician cares little and knows very little. One misguided South Australian attorney-general has been able to prevent thousands of Australian gamers from games that we should be able to have available. Also there are games released in Australia as MA that are then sold freely to 15 year olds that should/would have otherwise been rated R if the rating was available. This only happens as the games feature adult content but the OFLC rates them not quite bad enough to ban.

- The lack of an R18+ rating for video games in our classification system is a gross injustice, which restricts adult citizens from consuming media freely, as should be our right. It's absence contradicts the values of personal freedom upon which our nation is built and which our "Voting" population demands. Please represent the interests of your citizenry as your occupation clearly demands. For both the interests of our people and to maintain positive government relations with the people please abolish this out dated and intolerant classification injustice, and install a rating suitable for adult video game content.

- R18 movies are much harder to watch than playing an animated game depicting computer generated violence. Realistic movies have a much larger impact than animated violence yet theres still a movie rating and no game rating.

- This is not just about being able to release games with harmfull content, it is also about adults having the right to buy and play games which they see suitable for themselves.
