Subject: Permission to Exercise Voting Right with Protest Vote (vote for None of the Contestants)

Respected Sir/Madam,

We are the largest democracy in the World. It has been noticed that participation in the election process by educated and literate citizens is negligible. The prime reason behind this neutral approach is quality of candidates contesting elections. In many cases it is well know to everyone that most of the candidates contesting elections are not capable for the post on the grounds of education, moral values and criminal background.

As a citizen of India, we deserve the right to register our protest vote by exercising our voting right on the day of elections at the same time not voting for any of the contesting candidates.

If this provision is already available in our constitution, then it should be implemented on priority, if not, such provision needs to be made with appropriate amendment.

This will be one of the most effective steps towards cleaning the system and preparing India to shoulder the responsibility of World Super Power in next decade.

Thanking You.

    • the petition should also add that if the total number of protest votes are more than the total no. of votes of the winning candidate, then all the candidates from that constituioncy should be held non-illegible for contesting any further elections.
