For if you suffer your people to be ill-educated, and their manners to be corrupted from their infancy, and then punish them for those crimes to which their first education disposed them, what else is to be concluded from this, but that you first make thieves and then punish them?
~Sir Thomas More 1530 A.D.

The United States of America should be required to educate its citizens. By signing this petition you agree that the first four years of college education in the United States of America shall be paid for by it's government in exchange for the student maintaining a minimum of a 2.5 GPA, participating in local or global community service, and working a minimum of ten hours a week.

"The whole object of education is...to develop the mind. The mind should be a thing that works."
~Sherwood Anderson

    • This would reduce medicaid and foodstamps by allowing for an education first.
