We would like to suggest that you establish certain times and guidelines regarding when children under a certain age are allowed in your theaters. I understand the standard ratings for each movie; however, I think that in the
interest of the enjoyment of all, your respective companies should opt to provide times when we know that we can attend a movie without a rude person bringing a child that is too small to understand or appreciate the movie being shown.
On behalf of childfree patrons and also on behalf of people regardless of their familial status who would like to enjoy a movie without the constant distraction that small children can bring to a movie. Nowadays, it seems that people have lost all sense of etiquette and respect for others, and don't realize that the proper thing to do when your child creates a distraction is to remove him or her from the environment.
Some people who have children want to have everything. They want to enjoy their lives as if nothing has changed. That includes taking children aged 6 and 4 to see "Me, Myself and Irene", an R-rated movie with highly offensive language. It also includes those who drag infants to movies and the disruption that it can cause when the infant becomes fussy. It also includes those who take children to see movies which are geared toward adults, movies which the child does not even care to watch. These children tend to talk
loudly (or cry), purposely make noise with their seats, and run back and forth to the restroom or concession stand numerous times. These activities detract from others' enjoyment of the movie.
We would like to see your respective companies establish perhaps the last movie of the night as a movie where, for example, only persons over 12
are allowed, especially if it is one that is rated PG-13 or R. People who do not wish to deal with confrontations with other people's disruptive children (which often occur) would be insured of a peaceful environment in which to watch a movie. Patrons who are similarly situated as I am would appreciate these guidelines. If these sort of guidelines are not established, patrons will soon be forced to wait for a movie's release on video, causing lost
revenue to you.
Thank you for your time and consideration. We await your response.

- This would be such a plus, my husband and I would definitely see more movies in theaters if young children weren't there to make the experience less than pleasant.

- At the very least, children under 17 should NOT be allowed to rated R movies. I mean, c'mon!

- I would like to address a couple previous posts. Firstly, we're not looking to ban children from movies in general, nor are we saying that all children are troublemakers. We are a diverse audience, not "sad sad housewives" that want to "pick on children." We don't WANT to pick on children, but this is one of those "one bad apples spoils the bunch" cases. It's not ONE person's movie experience ruined by one or two troublemakers, or one or two crying babies, it's an entire THEATER'S experience that's ruined. That can be up to 200 people. If the movie is at a time when children should be home (usually around 10pm), and/or a movie inappropriate for children (the movie ratings system is there for a REASON), there should be ZERO children in attendance. A vast minority is ruining things for a vast majority, and this is simply not acceptable. The people who bring crying/loud children, and the older children who can't behave, aren't the only ones who paid money to watch the movie. Why pay for a bad time?

- I'm so glad something like this was finally suggested. When I was a kid, I went to G-rated movies only (and only when I was cognizant of what I was seeing, say 5 yrs old!) Hopefully this will make a dent in the habits of those parental morons who have no common sense.

- home rentals are for those with children who can not sit still, shut-up, can not stop complaining, and CONSTANTLY have to use the bathroom, all while sitting in a middle seat, all of this interrupts EVERYONE around them!
- How many children do you have?
- happily none, if i do, i will adopt, those places are just like "the pound"...so i hear, better to save a few unwanted, than add to the list of the unloved.
- Do you take your children, if any, to movies?
- that is what home rentals are for!

- Seeing movies with kids in non kid rated movies should never be done. They ALWAYS become uncontrollable. It is better to rent a movie and see it at home so the children do not interupt other movie-goers.

- It won't happen. Want to know why? It's called discrimination, which is illegal. It's no different than saying "All Jews are only allowed in this theater from 4-7pm" or "All African Americans must stay out until 9pm" If you want a child free movie theater, go to a country where it's legal to keep out certain groups of people.

- If this policy is not implementable, I propose that there at least be a few designated 13+ only showings of EVERY movie since there are so many movies that are rated G or PG that adults/teenagers enjoy as well. G/PG does not mean the movie was made for children and it is unfair that serious moviegoers are tortured by the noise these kids make. So please, have at least a few showings of each movie where children arent allowed. Or maybe, make the sound louder in the theaters so you cant hear the other people there. At least find some way to deal with this problem.

- I think the age should be 10 and older. Once a child has reached 10 years old, I think they would have enough common sense to behave in a theater.

- It's about time someone realized what a huge problem this is. I would definately attend more movies if I was guaranteed an enjoyable experience. Many people including myself, have been known to walk out during a movie and ask for our money back if there are insolent children keeping us from getting our $8 worth of entertainment
