NBC and their partner lead Microsoft (the MS in MSNBC) have decided to
use the beta version of Silverlight (think MS version of Flash) for
live streaming Olympic video. Silverlight doesn't support PPC
Macintosh or Linux computers. There are literally millions of viewers
that can't see the live video. This is not an acceptable situation. Instead they should use a more universally accepted solution such as Flash media players like those YouTube employs. Please sign this petition if you agree and want to help further this cause.

    • It would also have been courtious of NBC to at least inform the public of ANY specific hardware and software restrictions WELL BEFORE the start of the Olympics. It would've been nice to know that I would need to purchase a NEW computer system just to watch online any event they didn't want to broadcast over the air.
