The United States must take a proactive position to support our educational system. Schools throughout the country are forced to operate in substandard conditions. President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden have proposed a plan to tackle the problems of Americas educational system.

President Barack Obamas plan to reform Americas education system includes:

Reform No Child Left Behind:
Obama and Biden believe teachers should not be forced to spend the academic year preparing students to fill in bubbles on standardized tests and he will improve the assessments used to track student progress to measure readiness for college.

Invest in early childhood education:
The Obama-Biden comprehensive "Zero to Five" plan will provide critical support to young and their parents. They will help states move toward voluntary, universal pre-school.

Make college affordable to all Americans:
Obama and Biden will create a new American Opportunity Tax Credit worth $4,000 in exchange for community service. It will cover two-thirds the cost of tuition at the average public college or university and make community college tuition completely free for most students.

I am a concerned parent/teacher/student/citizen, and I want all children in the United States to take pleasure in their rights to an education.

I am signing this online petition to ask the United States Congress to support the presidents efforts to provide a quality education for all Americans, to make Americas schools safer, to continue to employ qualified teachers, to continue essential after school programs, and to invest in the future of our children and country.

    • I completely agree with this petition due to the fact that I have been arguing Education for children all year. Even though my subject matter deals with arts programs, my number one concern in general is that all kids have equal education rights. They are our future. Sincerely, Erika Brown
