On February 9, 2008 the citizens you represent selected Senator Barack Obama as their preferred presidential nominee for the Democratic Party. Senator Obama's victory in the caucuses was overwhelming, he won each of the 39 counties across the state and 67.5 \% of the vote overall.

In King County Senator Obama won approximately 70\% of the vote. In counties represented by Rep. Norm Dicks (Kitsap, Mason, Grays Harbor, Jefferson and Clallam) Senator Obama averaged 66\% of the vote. In counties represented by Rep. Jay Inslee (King, Kitsap and Snohomish) Senator Obama averaged 67\% of the vote.

As superdelegates to the National Convention, you have a significant role to play in the nomination process. As citizens of Washington State and of the counties you represent, we find it critical that you represent the wishes of the majority of voters in your district.

We understand you made a decision to support Senator Hillary Clinton prior to the caucuses. However, considering the results of the caucuses in your district we urge you to reconsider that decision and support the candidate that was selected by the majority of your constituents: Senator Barack Obama.

We are counting on you to use your superdelegate authority with wisdom and fairness.

    • I am highly concerned that a brokered deal at the convention could damage our changes to win the whitehouse. Please respect the voice of those who caucused in WA and either simply withdraw your support for Sen Clinton, or move your support to Sen Obama. My sincere thanks for your consideration of this volatile issue.

    • Please consider what the majority of Washington State said on 2/9/2008...that we want Obama as our nominee.

    • In the past 8 years, the votes of the PEOPLE of these United States, have been ignored and discounted. Please don't perpetuate the helplessness we feel. Represent us as we voted in last week's caucuses in every county across the state of Washington. At 59 years of age, I know that the system is not fair for everybody. But I want my children to hope for a better world where they do count!
