Sir

We hail your firm stand on reservation quota for the OBCs, SCs and STs. We strongly support your stand.

The so-called opposition is orchestrated by vested interests the money and media power of the upper castes.

The numerical strength of STs, SCs and OBCs in the countrys population is about 80 percent.

The over-all merit will actually be enhanced by the participation of the down-trodden in all kinds of pursuits. In this regard, the USA shows the way by adopting the policy of Affirmative Action.

Please dont yield to false campaigns.

    • While 'reservation' alone is highly inadequate to ensure an egalitarian social order, this is definitely an important instrument in the Indian context. There must not be any roll back under pressure from the traditionally privileged clamouring to protect their own narrow self-interests under the banner of вmeritв. In fact, вreservationsв, or вpositive discriminationsв, for women and marginalised sections of the вminoritiesв as well must be thought of and implemented.

    • sir, as a social worker, I on behalf of our organisation welcome your stand on the reservation policy but the percentage alone will not help but other factors ought to be considered.

    • Model for achievement of social justice is Switzerland, not USA. Switzerland has German (75\%), French (20\%), Italian (4\%) and Romansch (1\%) speaking linguistic groups. They believe in the concept of power sharing by sharing positions of power in all kinds of national organizations at all levels in proportion to their population ratio. In other words, they believe in 100\% reservation to all in proportion to their population. Current boost of reserved seats to 50\% is a step forward in the direction accepted by Switzerland more than 150 years ago. We hope, in the next couple of years the UPA government will push the reservation up to 100\%.

    • Provide Reservation, Increase Seats, Remove Creamy Layer of all Castes from getting access through Quotas. Children of all Government Employees and Families with Annual Income Exceeding 60,000 Rupees should be ineligible for Reservations. Continuing reservation to the creamy layer defetas the purpose of social integration as well as development of the oppressed people.

    • Reservation should be introduced from this academic year itself. Arguments about infrastructure, economics, creamy layer are designed for deceit. All resources, networks, positions of pelf, power and influence should all be reserved in such a way as to reflect the demographic distribution of the region, state and country. It is only then the this country can genuinely claim to have progressed and grown.
