This is a petition to bring Oliver Wood (played by Sean Biggerstaff) back to Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. We feel that the movie would not be the same without Oliver. What would the movie be like without his pre-game talks? How will the team go on without their Quidditch-obsessed captain? Many of us think that he is an asset to the movie, which is one of the reasons we are writing this petition.

The other reason is to bring back Quidditch. The third book contains all three Gryffindor Quidditch matches of the season and we feel that the movie should do the same. One of the book's key points is when Harry and his team win the Quidditch Final. It is through Quidditch that Harry catches his first glimpse at Cho Chang, his crush. It is in the third book that Harry loses his first Quidditch match and we get a first look at Cedric Diggory, the first student to die at Hogwarts while Harry is there.

Please consider our petition and all the other petitions like ours. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban will not be the same without Oliver OR Quidditch. They are both assets to the movie and it is because of this that we are petitioning.

    • I feel that the absense of Quiditch and Oliver Wood from the POA movie is a grave mistake. The Quiditch scenes offer a visualy stunning intermission from the books centeral plot. Not only that but a dementor during a Quiditch match leads to Sirius' purchase of a firebolt for Harry. This is a IMPORTANT SYMBOL of the love he feels for his best friend's son. Oliver adds an air of fun and sports obsession that is fresh, and frankly adorable. If you don't rectify this horrific error I for one, will be very dissapointed.

I immensly enjoyed him during the first movie, though he had a very small part, and I believe it would be a great loss to the movie and a desperate jerk away from the books to cut him and quidditch from the movie. It simply would not be realistic, and I, for one, would be one of the many unhappy Potter fans to reject the movie just from that stand point.

    • As a HUGE harry potter fan, i speak for everyone in saying that if you cut out anything quidditch, you will regret it immensly, thats one of the main reasons we go to see the movies and then even changing directors and cast is just too much for us!!

    • Removing Quidditch from PoA would be like mocking the masterpieces written by JK Rowling. Quidditch is a major portion of the books and Harry's life. Besides, Quidditch is the only part of the movies that made them seem even a little like the books.

    • I must state, that because it is the character's (Oliver Wood's) seventh and final year at Hogwarts, that he should be included in the film version of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. He provides comic relief and is one of the most interesting characters in the novel. To cut him out would be a sin. Please bring Oliver back to the silver screen!
