We, the Undersigned, are against the new state slogan "Open for Business." We believe that it looks ridiculous on our "Welcome to West Virginia" signs, and is an embarrassment to the hard-working people of this proud state. We all believe that West Virginia is "Wild and Wonderful" and offers much more than business opportunities. Therefore, we request the immediate replacement of the "Open for Business" signs with the more traditional and appropriate "Wild and Wonderful" signs.

- You know, the newly opened Arby's down the street from my apt. has a sign up that says "Open for business." Now WV can be just like a fast food chain, thanks to the wondeful Gov. Joe Manchin III.

- Instead of saying we're open for business how about getting off your butt and telling people in person we're ready and willing to work. We're WV, home of the hardest working people in America!

- The new slogan is pathetic. It just makes us seem a little too desperate...almost third world desperate.

- I believe the current slogan suggests West VIrginia cannot provide for itself. Maybe the state should focus on economic and business planning, instead of investing in temporary solutions (ie video lottery and gambling). Down with the slogan!!

- I understand that West Virginia doesn't have the most sophisticated image as a state and that people want to change that image. But that is part of its rustic charm. No matter who you are, you feel like you're home when you visit this state because it is so comforting and untainted by the harsh realities that exist in other parts of the country. The slogan "Open for Business" just doesn't express what sets West Virginia apart as a state. That is the reason I think we should go back to "Wild and Wonderful." That slogan expresses what West Virginia truly is.

- that slogan makes our state open for laughs and criticism instead. It prostitutes our beautiful state out to any business it can get. We need change it back to Wild and Wonderful!!
