Outcasts are constantly ridaculed in school. They get beat up, harassed, and tormented by some of the so-called popular people. When does this ever come to light on a news station? Never. They always say the problem is being solved, but we all know it never is. Teachers do not want to deal with this problem. Then something like Columbine happens and everyone says it wasn't their fault. Sign below if you want a REAL zero tolerance on the daily harassment of outcasts.

- Outcast deserve to be safe, but how are we supposed to do that? There is no sense in a petition because no matter what you do, people are still going to be ignorant and pick on the people that don't quite "fit in." But if you think about it, what really is the definition of fitting in? Everyone has their own cliques and they may believe that they are the in crowd and everyone else it out. So it all depends on how you look at people. I think I am not an outcast in some situations, but an outcast in others. People may call you an outcast because you are educated, or because you have less money than they have, or you don't have as many friends, but it all depends on how you depict yourself as an individual. No one can tell you who you are, you are your own person and no one can change who you are and how you depict yourself.

- Administrators need to stop neglecting kids who are being harrassed or tormented in any way. Parents should be notified (depending on the extreme) and proper disiplinary action taken, even if it means arranging someones schedule. The person doing the harrassing should really be spoken to on an open level to find out why he/she is behaving this way. Anonymity should also be taken into concern.

- Sorry thought of something else. Schools should start a club where other students can join and become a certain kind of monitor in the halls or on school grounds to help those in need when being harrassed. Kids of all types and cliques could join. They would really have to work together as a team to prevent this stuff from happening. It would be like Students Against Drunk Driving, only it would be Students Against Bullying Other Students.

- I do not think enough attention is given to this sort of problem in the school setting. Harrassment of kids because they are different should be treated just as harshly as harrassment that is given because of race and ethnicity. Noone should feel threatened in any environment, especially in the environment where they are earning an education.

- It happened to me but I joined a heavy metal band 2 let my anger out on guitar but it never changes that people are often cruel, like when I walk down thestreet and people shout abuse at what I am wearing, I ignore it but the fact of the matter is it shouldn't happen, I want the schools 2 actually do sumthin about these poor kids having 2 be tormented everyday NOW!!!
