Nous, citoyens vivant ou circulant aux abords de la voie de chemin de fer entre les quartiers du Plateau-Mont-Royal et de Rosemont-La Petite-Partie (Montréal), demandons que soient aménagés rapidement plusieurs passages permettant aux piétons et aux cyclistes de traverser la voie. Les points de connexions actuels entre les deux quartiers (viaducs aménagés pour les voitures et peu sécuritaires pour les modes de transport alternatifs) ne sont pas une solution acceptable et les passages non officiels ont été fermés. Nous demandons également l’arrêt des amendes et la décriminalisation du passage sur la voie.

We, the citizens that live and circulate through the two sides of the track between Plateau-Mont-Royal and Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie (Montreal), demand passageways to be able to cross the tracks for pedestrians and cyclists. The current methods of crossing (going under unsafe viaducts, designed for cars) are unacceptable and the unofficial crossings have been closed. We also demand the immediate decriminalization and halt to ticketing of people crossing the track.

    • I'm not sure the people living close to the tracks will appreciate the very loud whistling the trains are required to do when this plan goes through. Unless it will be a stairs overpass or a tunnel, but those will be just as awkward as going to St. Denis or St. Urbain.

    • Mon expérience me fait conclure que de traverser la voie ferrée à pied est infiniment moins dangereux que d'emprunter le viaduc St-Laurent. C'est pourquoi je fais passer mon jeune fils par la voie ferrée. Jamais je ne paierai une amande pour avoir refusé de risquer la vie de mon enfant en y passant. La sécurité avant la légalité. C'est le dilemme dans lequel on place cyclistes et piétons dont les déplacements devraient être facilités plutôt que de favoriser systématiquement le transport automobile.
