Without any consultation with staff and unions, National Museums Liverpool have implemented daytime CCTV recording in the museums control rooms. The local PCS Branch accepts the use of CCTV to ensure the Health & Safety of lone workers during night shifts but condemns daytime monitoring.
I support PCS members at National Museums Liverpool in their attempt to put a stop to daytime CCTV recording in control rooms and ask the management to put an end to this practice.

    • As a retired trade union officer and a member of the Liverpool Museums Community Advisory Committee. I wholeheartedly condemn this "Big Brother" practice. Whatever the management reasons, cctv should not be used in this intrusive fashion. Furthermorethe fact that no consultation took place with the employees' representatives is sufficient to promote a serious breakdown in trust and damage good industrial relations. I will support any further actions proposed to make known to the management the displeasure their unthinking condust is causing.
