This is a letter to the admin's of Craigslist,
We are formally petitioning them to create sticter rules for rehoming pets.
"The small rehoming fee" is causing much bickering in the sections. Peoples tempers are flaring. I would like to petition Craigslist to set a limit on what a individual can post as rehoming fee. I would like them to exclude certified rescues from this as rescues tend to rehome dogs with much more serious needs than a individual rehoming their pet.
Please set up a format much like that of Petfinders. Please do this to stop the sell of animals on Craigslist. This is the only way it will stop the sell of animals.

- I agree that the rehoming fees are becoming a way for people to sell animals and it's rather disturbing - they don't appear to be looking for 'good' homes - just homes where people will pay whatever they ask.

- I have been trying to find a dog for some time now and the bickering and horrible words being said on craigslist is really upsetting

- This bothers me, but what I cant stand is the public flagging. It has gotten really bad. Please start a petiton to have that changed also.

- breeders and puppy mills with large so called rehoming costs should be stopped. I feel that people should have the right to ask for a small rehoming fee but that doesnt always mean they are going to go to a good home. There does need to be limit on the amount that can be asked for I think over 100-150 dollars should be the cap and honestly thats a little high People well most people anyway do understand that it costs money to own a pet I think more interviews and vet refrences should be done than setting a higher "rehoming fee" I called someone on this the other day posting about a certain breed of dog with a rehoming fee of 1500 dollars once i told them that the sale of animals was prohibited they removed the ad. More definant rules should be posted to detail what is and isnt exceptable.
