We, the undersigned Mike Piazza fans, hereby petition the NY Mets baseball organization, to make every effort to retire the uniform #31 proudly worn by Mike Piazza. This should be done as soon as possible before the end of the 2008 basbeball season as a grand compliment to the man who helped put METS baseball back on the map and energy back at Shea Stadium when we needed it most.

Retire the #31 of the man who helped us get back to the World Series. And please do this at Shea before she is torn down. All of Mike's magic was made at Shea and so his # 31 should be retired there.

Do the right thing and honor a man who gave his all while he was here and is a HUGE fan favorite and sure fire 1st ballot HOF'er.

    • Piazza is one of the greatest Mets of all time. He helped to trancend a terrible 90's franchise into a World Series team. He's possibly one of the greatest offensive Catchers ever. #31 should be retired next year when CitiField opens. It would be a wonderful way to kick off the 2009 Season!!
