Dear writers of the Pirates of the Carbbean,
Recently, the Pirates of the Caribbean 3 was released, bringing much excitement upon all POTC fans. Enthralled as we were by the movie, we would like to take this opportunity to express our immense disappointment at the death of the character James Norrington.
After the big part Norrington played in Dead Mans Chest, his death in At Worlds End was abrupt and widely thought to be unnecessary, for we all feel that there is much potential for further character development in Norrington. While he was not as important as characters like Jack Sparrow or Will Turner, he had always been essential in the story. A character in perpetual conflict between his job and honour, and his humanity and love for Elizabeth, Norrington has always been a colourful character, and if there was ever a fourth film to the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, he is certainly destined to play a role.
The death of James Norrington had its beautiful moment and displayed Norringtons gallantry, but in the midst of the sadness we feel for our beloved Admiral, we must also express our disappointment in the way you let him go. The whole incident of his death appeared stretched, considering that Norrington was without doubt a better swordsman than Bootstrap Bill Turner, and even had the advantage of wielding a gun, and no actual threat was made to Elizabeths safety. His sacrifice, even though moving, is widely conceived to be rather unnecessary, and has dwelt a tremendous blow to all Norrington fans. We all believe the story of a character as great as Norrington should not just end here!
Hector Barbossa was shot and brought back; Jack Sparrow got swallowed by the Kraken and rescued; must Norrington be the first major character who dies? Surely he doesnt deserve such a fate, and only you have the power to bring him back.
If there is a fourth Pirates of the Caribbean film, which we are all earnestly looking forward to, James Norrington must return!

- A beloved character should not be removed in such a rushed way.

- James Norrington is one of my prime reasons for watching PotC. I love Jack Davenport, and the way Norrington died was sadly expected. In a universe where people returning from the dead is canon, I sincerely hope that it can be found in the hearts of the writers to bring back my beloved James.

- I know that this request seems odd for a character who only had 4 scenes in the third movie, but I would like you to consider the option of bringing him back. James is a character of internal conflicts, and it seems to me that there was very little internal conflict within the movie. James stands for choosing to do the right thing or the legal thing and his allegiances are torn because of that choice. So while bringing him back for a fourth film may not be a viable option because of repetitivness, I would recommend placing another character with the same conflictions as James. Thank you for your consideration of our proposition.

- Please bring him back. His death was totally unncessary and not in the Disney spirit of the good guys getting the happy endings. He was the most unselfish character in the trilogy and he deserves his to find love and his happy ending. Thank you.

- Though the character I fancy the most would be Jack (who doesn't love him?), I must say that the death of our beloved Admiral was really unnecessary; We all love him!

- As much as I am heartbroken from the death of my favorite character, the fact that he died was not so outrageous, but the fact that he was killed off in such a lame way.

- Tia Dalma said that Gov. Swann's soul was at peace, therefore he couldn't be brought back to the living. I doubt very much that Norrington's soul is at peace. A thought.

- James deserved a larger part in the thrird film, even though he died for his love, I wasn't happy. He was in the film for, four scenes? After the build up in Dead Man's Chest I expected James to get a large important role.
