The California Supreme Court has distinctly held the belief that same-sex couples have a lawful right to marry under the California constitution. The successfulness of this proposition has overturned the Supreme Court's decision and has eliminated the rights of same-sex couples.
We the undersigned of California accede that marriage equality is a fundamental civil rights issue and that the right to marry should not be denied to any individual based on sexual orientation. We have rejected Proposition 8 because it's a discriminatory attack on the homosexual community.
We the undersigned want to overturn Prop 8. We believe homosexuals have a right to be married, and we want to have another chance to vote on it. We feel this is going back to the days when Japanese were sent to internment camps, when women weren't allowed to vote or buy a house or even get a credit card in their name. We want to end the discrimination, prejudice, and bigotry.

- Everyone should be entitled to their right to pursue happiness, including gays. Prop. 8 is discrimination plain and simple. Gay people do not choose to be gay just like people don't choose the color of their skin. People would raise hell if black people weren't allowed to marry simply because of the color of their skin. How is this any different? Prop 8 was passed because Christians think homosexual relationships are an "abomination." This isn't just a matter of discrimination, it's a matter of (the lack of) separation of church and state.
