Recently, Punisher: War Zone was released theatrically. Unfortunately box office returns were not as high as expected. Lionsgate, Punisher fans and comic book fans alike are equally as disappointed, as the film has the potential to do better.

Fans who have seen the film are very vocal about their feelings and the consensus is overwhelmingly positive. This is the film the fans wanted and deserved, but it does not end here. Lexi Alexander is a visionary director, and a director's vision begins on paper and ends in the final edit of the film.

Judging by the previous Punisher film and many other Hollywood films, this film is very likely to do well on home video. DVD/Blu-Ray has revolutionized home video, due to the inclusion of the "director's cuts" of countless films.

Lexi Alexander worked very hard on Punisher: War Zone and deserves to have her director's cut released on home video. Unfortunately, films that aren't financially successful are not top contenders for director's cut releases. Lexi has kept the fans at heart during every creative decision made on this film and her edit of the film is just as important to that affect as the individual images that end up on celluloid.

Please, give Punisher fans and audiences alike the complete Punisher: War Zone experience, by releasing Lexi Alexander's director's cut on DVD and Blu-Ray when the theatrical cut of this film is set to be released on home video.

    • OK, so Christmas wasn't the time for a one-man army flick in the form of Frank Castle. However, when March or April roll around and this hits DVD, I'm hoping to get my money's worth in the form of MANY bonus features. Sorry the money wasn't there this weekend, but you made a GREAT F'N MOVIE!!!

    • I enjoyed this movie and am sad it didn't do well at the box office. Despite that, it deserves a good DVD treatment with it's transfer and special features, and The Punisher film series deserves to continue theatrically.

    • Many people will disagree with me but this film is on par with any other comic book film adaptation out there. Lexi has given us Punisher fans what we wanted but unfortunately the box office sales haven't been that great. She deserves to have her Director's Cut released. I would buy it. :o)

    • As a fan of the punisher comic, i really enjoyed this movie, Lexi Alexander's vison of punisher is what fans have been wanting to see. So i'd love a Directors Cut DVD or even a sequal!

    • I really enjoyed this movie but it was very obvious to me that it had been tampered with in some way when watching it in theater. Will when you studios learn? STOP screwing with director's visions.. because they KNOW what they are doing. You don't. So please release Lexi's director's cut on DVD and Blu-ray. Otherwise, I may not buy the movie when it becomes available.
