We, the undersigned, have learnt that non-disabled people are able to purchase RADAR Keys that allow access to disabled facilities - such as disabled toilets. These keys are also being sold on eBay.
As it stands, RADAR (and most local councils) will sell these keys to anyone willing to pay for them. The only time you need to prove disability is if you are entitled to be VAT exempt. Some councils provide RADAR keys for free to disabled residents, but others do not request proof of disability.
We want RADAR Keys to only be available to disabled people - as is the case for National Concessionary Bus Passes and Blue Badges. We want RADAR and ALL councils to request proof of disability. We want it made clear to eBay that selling RADAR Keys on their site is not allowed.
RADAR and many councils state that these keys are provided to prevent vandalism and misuse. Allowing NON-disabled people to purchase/posess these keys is a form of MISUSE. Non-disabled people are allowed to which toilet to use; standard public toilets or disabled toilets. Disabled people don't have this choice. When a disabled person needs to use specialist facilities, they should not have to wait for a non-disabled, but lazy, person who happens to have bought their way into the facilities via eBay or the RADAR website.

- RADAR keys should only be availiable to people after they have proved they are disabled. To allow any Tom Dick or Harry to buy one is morally wrong and MUST be stopped.

- I am a strong believer that the RADAR keys should not be available on eBay as well as non-disabled people. This though is very difficult for RADAR to manage.

- I agree with your vent on blue/orange badges but you are discriminatory with toilets. They exist as an aid not a devine right. Whilst you get reserved parking you should have to pay like the rest of us, you should have to queue like the rest of us. Being infirm doesn't give you devine rights & your the first to shout that you want equal rights and to be treated the same. If someone has no legs it doens't mean they can't hold their bladder til a toilet is free does it. If you realy wanna make a case then really only about 5\% of registered disabled people would really need immediate access to which I agree with. But the rest of you, hold it in & queue like the rest of us have to. So, unless you revise your petition for the latter \% to sign, shove it up yur arse!

- I bought my RADAR key on eBay. Best purchase I've ever made. It's been especially useful for when I need extra space in a cubicle for my young children and at train stations where the standard toilets are normally disgusting. Thanks for raising awareness of this issue and for alerting people to the fact that the able-bodied can also purchase RADAR keys. I never go anywhere without mine!
