PLEASE HELP! Let justice be re-served in the murder case of Rusty D. Clinton.

Background (preamble):

Your valuable signature is ESSENTIAL in assisting the family and friends of Rusty D. Clinton express their concerns with our legal system and support a jurys conviction for Cornell D. Williams of second-degree murder, first-degree assault and two counts of armed criminal action in the slaying of Rusty D. Clinton that was made in 2002. In March of 2008 the Missouri Court of Appeals ordered a new trial for this man. Out of concern for the safety of the victims family, friends, and the citizens we feel that it is vital this man remain behind bars for the heinous crime he has committed. Please sign this petition to help ensure that justice is served, AGAIN!

History:

On February 24th, 2001 Rusty D. Clinton and a very close friend of his were spending the Saturday afternoon together doing whatever it is that guys do. I remember the day vividly; it was sunny and breezy with a little chill in the air. In the blink of an eye, the peacefulness of that day was destroyed forever. Rusty and his friend had a set of customized wheels they were trying to get rid of. They had met up with a couple of guys Rusty met one day while working. They were interested in the wheels and had agreed to purchase them from Rusty and his friend. Rusty and his friend took the men back to his friends apartment where the wheels were stored. All four men were in the living room of the apartment discussing the business deal they had previously agreed on. At some point the deal went south and Cornell D. Williams had decided he no longer wanted to pay for the wheels, but would rather kill for them. That is exactly what he did. He pulled out a semi-automatic hand gun and began shooting at Rusty and his friend. Within seconds the men had ran out of the apartment with the wheels they came for and left Rusty and his friend for dead. Little did they know at the time that Rustys friend was not injured in any way. However, Rusty was shot in the face a later that day was pronounced dead at the hospital. A year later, Cornell D. Williams was convicted by jury of second-degree murder, first-degree assault and two counts of armed criminal action in the slaying of Rusty D. Clinton.
At the time of the trial and conviction, Cornell D. Williams had maintained his defense attorney, ignored his indigence, and did not request a mental health evaluation for himself. At some point since his conviction Cornell D. Williams has been diagnosed with schizophrniform type psychosis according to the appeals court who granted him a new trial based on these findings. In addition to Rustys friend who is an eye-witness in the murder trial Cornell D. Williams was accompanied by his cousin Kevin Johnson that day, who had also testified against Cornell D. Williams about the events and intentions that occurred that day. He has since served his sentence and been released (which in my opinion was much too short for being an accomplis to murder).
In conclusion, it is more than any family or friend should have to live through losing a loved one. We have all been through a murder trial once and are now being forced to live this horrible nightmare again. Please help us keep Rustys murderer in prison where he rightfully resides, by signing this petition. LET OUR VOICES BE HEARD!

    • A good man was taken from this world way to early because this SOB decided he wanted something for free. He should have to pay with his life the same way he took Rusty's. RIP Rusty
