We the undersigned petition the London Borough of Redbridge to rescind its decision to stop funding Redbridge Disability Association's information advice and advocacy service.
Redbridge Disability Association is a front line disabled person led non profit organisation with 42 years experience. Disability creates massive challenges - we want to solve real issues together.
The London Borough of Redbridge has decided to stop funding us and have not actually said why. We are at risk of closing but last year brought 500,000 into the Borough and have been rated as excellent by the Legal Services Commission.

- This is the start of the end for human dignity. Though, I am not surprised to hear this by the way Redbridge have been treating me. However, all hope is not lost yet and I will take this fight to the belly of the best if needs be to save this vital lifeline!

- this service is a critical one for all disabled residents in Redbridge, they have helped me with numerous problems that my daughter has encountered at college due to her disabilities and are always there to offer advice when needed, without them the disabled people of Redbridge would be majorly disadvantaged.

- Redbridge Disability Assocation assisted me enormously with organising a driveway for me where I live. I use a wheelchair and my life has been made so much easier since the complettion of this driveway. Please please continue to fund REDA.

- A friend's daughter, who is wheelchair bound, needed help and advice from ReDA. they were very professional and did an excellent job. Without their support my friend's daughter would not have been able to get out and about as she wished.

- ReDA helps so many vulnerable people with various kinds of disability. Without this organisation, many of those people will struggle in their everyday life. It is vital that the advocacy remains for the benefit of those people who cannot afford to pay someone for advice.

- Redbridge Disability Association support and commitment to helping the disabled community in our borough is truly exemplary- to end this service will undoubtedly leave the disabled community without a voice, without support, without invaluable advocacy and without their champion to continue to fight for the Rights of the Disabled Redbridge Community! To keep this service open will be to keep HOPE for a better Present and Future for one of the most vulnerable and вun-noticedв group within our Community.

- As a former employee of ReDA I am well aware of the important work that they do. The organisation has a long tradition of working with disabled people in a way which the Local Authority cannot do, and is an invaluable asset to the community.

- I am co-vice-chair of East Sussex Disability Association (a user-led organisation), and Iknow how difficult it's been to get funding recently so I hope that the council will think again and support this organisation.
