We the undersigned do hereby request that legendary Texas singer/songwriter/poet/musician ROGER KYNARD "ROKY" ERICKSON be nominated and inducted into The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. We strongly feel that his contributions to Rock & Roll music have easily earned him the right to induction, among those being:
1.His co-founding of the legendary 1960's group "13th Floor Elevators"

2.His renown as the composer of numerous, classic Rock songs ("You're Gonna
Miss Me", "Splash 1", etc.) which have also been covered by a sizable
number of other important artists over the years

3.His having the rare distinction in Rock & Roll music of creating a
successful, artistically productive and influential career for himself
as both a band member and a solo artist equally

4.His recognition-by both music critics, his peers and fans
alike-as being one of the most important, influential and
unique singers in the history of Rock & Roll music

5.His creating and maintaining of one of the longest PRODUCTIVE
careers of any artist in Rock & Roll music(1966-PRESENT)

We encourage the members of the induction committee to review the long
and artistically important career of ROGER "ROKY" ERICKSON, and to
enhance the artistic prestige and merit of the Rock & Roll Hall of
Fame by inducting Mr. Erickson. We the undersigned thank you for your
time and attention to this worthy endeavour.
