We, the people of Iran, do not believe that the Islamic Republic of Iran is a legitimate representation of our nation. The current governmental system allows only a select few with extreme Islamic views to run the country, indefinitely, offering no option for adjustments or a way for the Iranian people to control and shape their future. As you are well aware, any peaceful, nonviolent movement towards change within the system is brutally crushed, with no respect for human rights. It is our belief that the regulations forced upon the people are oppressive, cruel, violate civil liberties and are designed to keep the people in inadequate financial, educational, health, freedom and labor options at the expense of a select few that claim superiority due to their announced devotion to the Almighty. The welfare of the Iranian people is simply not on the agenda of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Additionally, Iran is a signatory to the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR) and is in violation of numerous articles, including Part III, articles 7,14, 18, 21 and 22.

The people of Iran want to implement change in the country utilizing non-violent, human rights respecting methods, without war and with a peaceful transition model of forgiveness, possibly similar to South Africas Truth and Reconciliation program, but designed and approved by the majority of Iranians. We hereby ask the United Nations to oversee a nationally held referendum so that the people of Iran can have the option of choosing a new sovereign government, and so that Iranians can redraft their constitution for the nation. This document is to embody limited terms for all working in government positions, respect for human rights, the upholding of true and fair democracy, the separation of religion from government, and equality for all who share the land.

    • The brave, courageous people of Iran want and deserve freedom, from oppression, from threat of censorship, from dictarorship, from being marginalized. They deserve all human rights for free people everywhere democracy thrives: freedom of speech, freedom of assembley, freedom to elect fairly the government, freedom from discimination due to sex, religion, colour, creed, ethnicity. Be strong, stay safe!
