Pokйmon Adventures - Ruby/Sapphire Arc

Dear Viz Media LCC,

We, the many fans of Pokйmon, were ecstatic when your company announced a reprint of the Pokйmon Adventures manga series (Known as Pocket Monsters Special in Japan), especially as said reprint has now extended into recently unpublished volumes such as the Gold/Silver/Crystal Chapter and has branched off into the separate Pokйmon Adventures Diamond/Pearl/Platinum series covering the Diamond/Pearl and Platinum chapters of the original Japanese release, and the planned Pokйmon Black & White series, which will no doubt shorten the gap between the fans in Japan reading the latest chapters, and us doing the same.

However, since the last chapter of the GSC chapter has reportedly been moved from its original place in volume 15 (the first volume of the Ruby/Sapphire arc) to volume 14 (the final Gold/Silver/Crystal volume), some doubt has now been cast over the future of the Ruby/Sapphire, FireRed/LeafGreen, Emerald and perhaps even the HeartGold/SoulSilver chapters. If these chapters are not translated and released into English, it would cause plot holes in future volumes and would no doubt anger a lot of the franchises older fans, who have already had to fight for the GSC arc.

Responses from the company have stated the ambiguous No plans to release them, and some seemingly even asking for proof of demand. We, the undersigned, respect the need for the more recent chapters to be printed to appeal to the newer fans, and to be up to date; however, we also hope that this important era of the franchise is not forgotten.

Please Viz Media, dont let the fans down by not releasing these volumes.

    • The Pokemon Adventure Series is the best that I've seen dealing with pokemon, I greatly wish that the storyline be completed, especially the Ruby and Sapphire arc, since it is my most favorite of all. I sincerely ask that the storyline be kept consistent and that there would not be any holes in the story THANK YOU!!!!

    • You shouldn't release the first part of a series, begin the third part of a series, and then not release the second part. It's pure dishonesty towards fans, especially considering so many people have wanted this series to rerelease here for so long prior to it, and then to not release the second part would frankly just be a "bitch" move, and even moreso considering the RSE and FRLG arcs are probably the most interesting of the entire series thus far!

    • Hi Viz, as said in the letter, in your currently on going saga (D/P/Pt) will appear a character unknown for those that have not read Emerald saga, Emerald is de direct continuation of Fire Red/Leaf Green saga, and in order to understand BOTH of them (Emerald/Fire Red, Leaf Green), Ruby and Sapphire are needed. This is a great story with a great background, and vanishing even one of the sagas would be terrible for the series. So given this reason, I (along with the other fans) ask you to finish this story as it should be finished. This story has a big demand, specially because Ruby/Sapphire is one of the arcs (only compared to GSC in my opinion)

    • Leaving out RS and FRLG would require HUGE edits in the last volume of DP, and would likely make the HGSS and Platinum arc impossible to release at all (as well as the eventual followup arc to BW, if the current pattern continues!) This series has a highly dedicated following amongst older Pokemon fans who would jump at the opportunity to shell out some cash for the full collection - and if this series were more widely available in English, it would catch the attention of the Pokemon fandom proper. That's a lot of people, and I hope you won't let them down by not translating this superb manga.
