-------------------------------------------------

The Pavilion Building at HEOL LAS PARK has been allowed to deteriorate to such an extent that YOUR local junior and senior soccer teams are unable to play league games on their home ground because of a lack of facilities. Swansea Council has now stated that they will be DEMOLISHING your building and not replacing it.

---------------------------------------

We, the undersigned support the refurbishment of this Pavilion to provide shower and changing facilities for organised sporting activities, and toilet facilities for park users.

    • The police expressed an interest in having a small office here. Local teams need access to essential facilities.

    • I feel that this is another thing that is just allowed to happen in Birchgrove and feel that if this was in the west of Swansea would never be allowed to happen. It would be restored to its former glory and local teams could play their home fixtures

    • Why knock a perfectly good building down when it can be restored? Swansea Council doesn't know how to restore buildings only how to demolish them!!!

    • Apart from historical significance the Pavillion is required for use today and in the future and should therefore be preserved

    • The pavillion has always been a symbol of Heol Las Park. It needs modernising, not demolition. Other parks in the area have been updated such as Ynystawe. Also, Heol Las park is now the local park for several new housing developments just off Heol Las.

    • The park needs changing facilities, and the pavillion is a focal point. Update the pavillion, and make the park attractive once again.
