Dear Minister Finley,
I am shocked to hear that their is a removal order against Shammi and Badrul Alam and their son UofT student Saad Alam.
I am asking that you use your discretion under section 25 (1) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and suspend the removal order against his family, until a decision on both a) their Humanitarian application and b) a decision on the Judicial Review of their Pre Removal Risk Assessment is made.
I also ask you to look favourably upon their Humanitarian Application and grant them Permanent Status in Canada. At the very least, I ask that you issue a temporary resident permit or minister's permit to Saad so that he may continue his studies.
Saad's family has resided in Canada for over 5 years now and they have built their lives here. Education should be accessible to all students, regardless of status. Everyone should have a right to education. I would ask your assistance in making sure this happens for Saad and other students like him!
Thank you.
