  • This is the first step towards replacing the Scottish Saltire with the Union Flag, (aka Butchers Apron). First bring down the Saltire, then replace it with a Regional Flag, then the next step will be to fly the Butchers Apron either next to, or instead of, the Regional Flag. Does anyone know the political make up of the new Angus Council? Bet it's an amalgamation of Labour, Tory, Liberal and "Independents". For "Independents" read Tory Businessmen with an Orange Tinge! This Council should hang it's head in shame. Failing that, just hang them. TRAITOR SCUM.

  • Everytime we travel to Angus we are greeted by the sign .'Welcome to Angus, the Birthplace of Scotland'. As the Council are willing to use this slogan for publicity sake they should also fly the Saltire. Its disgraceful and as a family we won't we making our regular shopping trips to Angus until the disgraceful situation is corrected.

  • A disgrace - The Saltire is the only Scottish Flag with Internation Recognition. It should not be taken down, It should be publicly displayed on ALL Scottish Council Buildings.

  • I fly the Saltire in Australia and I would expect it to be flown in Scotland for Gods sake. Why not just replace it with the English flag if you guys are that ashamed of it. Better still, leave the flag and YOU go to England.

  • Bunch of sell outs. why they want to change our flag i do not know, its a total disgrace. The Saltire is a flag that represents the hole of Scotland, its a flag of the people, its in our heart. Rest assured if they replace any Saltire for that sell out peace of rubbish then i for one will personaly take them down one by one.

  • As someone who was born and grew up in Dundee, I have always been proud of my home city. However, after viewing this petition about the County of Angus refusing to fly The Saltire, I'm sorry to say that I can no longer be proud of the County of Angus. This makes me wonder if the County Council consists of a bunch of stupid Sassenachs!
