Give Sam and Max Their Original Voices Back For Season 3

Dear Telltale Games,

We, the undersigned, are dedicated fans of Sam and Max, and strongly request that you allow Bill Farmer and Nick Jameson, the two original voices of Sam and Max, the opportunity to reprise their roles for your upcoming third season of your Sam and Max episodic series. We feel that the local actors from the Bay Area that you assigned the roles of Sam and Max to for the first two seasons did not do the series justice, nor did they even come close to the capturing the essence of the characters they were supposed to portray. Also, during the entire time the dialogue for all eleven of those episodes was recorded, there hasn't been a Sam and Max product sold in the United States that actually contained the original voices. The last time such a product was sold outside of sources like eBay was 2005.

We also believe that you should allow Farmer and Jameson the opportunity to re-record every single line of dialogue that David Nowlin recorded as Sam and William Kasten and Andrew Chaikin recorded as Max in the six episodes of the first season and the five episodes of the second season.

David Nowlin's performance as Sam not only sounded drab and unimaginative in comparison to Farmer's, but also forced and unnatural, subsequently producing the opposite effect that Farmer brought to the part - a more sarcastic, deadpan interpretation, perfectly befitting the canine shamus that is Sam.

Additionally, Andrew Chaikin and William Kasten both played Max as a whiny, illogically annoying, and rather toned down individual, not anything like the original character, as portrayed by Nick Jameson - whose Max was hardcore, straight up, and in-your-face, and encompassed everything a hyperkinetic lagomorph was meant to be.

If you insist on bringing back and casting Nowlin and Kasten in the roles of Sam and Max again, we can assure you that you will lose a lot of potential business to alternate sources (bootlegs, etc.) that actually allow the original voices, because we, the fans, simply will neither support nor buy an inferior Sam and Max product a third time around.

We, the devoted fans of Sam and Max, most respectfully request that you do not give David Nowlin the opportunity to ruin a character as great as Sam, nor should you give either Andrew Chaikin or William Kasten the opportunity to do the same to Max.

    • I know it's a matter of money, time, and obligation to your new voice actors, but these two VO actors made the characters into the ones we know and love. for some of us the new ones are preventing us from playing you new games, Telltale. Please a least tell us why they can't come back if you don't want them on as the VO actors...

    • I belive that in all media, be it the new transformers films or the new Naruto Shipuden, that the original voices should be used just as replacing actors is unpopular...

    • The new voices are good, and I don't like the idea of removing someone from a job, but if all would work out, I'd love to hear the voices from Hit the Road.
