We, the undersigned, believe that the social networking site you created has become an integral part of our daily lives. It is our primary source for communicating and sharing information with friends, family and colleagues around the world.
We also use it to market our products and services, so its demise would cause great economic hardship.
We feel that if you shut down Facebook on March 15th, it will irreparably impact our lives. We can't imagine life without Facebook!
We know it is a stressful time for you, providing a service for over 500 million users in over 70 languages, but you have built something beautiful something bigger than all of us.
We believe that Facebook is the embodiment of freedom of expression and democratic principles; it is a giant leap for mankind.
We join together in this petition to let you know that we are grateful for all you have done and to demonstrate the support that exists for Facebook.
We urge you in the strongest way possible to reconsider your decision to shut down Facebook.

Facebook is so successful and has dissolved the miles between relations for so many people. If you do away with it, you are selfish, stupid and spiteful. We say thank you for that. Therefore this is our plead, we the Facebook community is kindly asking you to reconsider the decision of shutting the world largest social networking site down. Please not now, and hopefully never in the history of mankind. May the God of heaven and earth, the God of my forefathers be with you and your family. - I agree that Facebook must be really shut down, as I have learnt so far that this is highly non productive way for all of us to waste loads of our time online, however, by shutdown I don't mean whole of the operations, but atleast facebook should think about this generation and do something that makes people not just waste their time. They should shut down such things where they are only looking forward to make money, instead they should announce more competitions, more quizzes and all, that makes us and other users a proud user of facebook, and that sense of guilt is gone forever about using FACEBOOK, I force that we must together make facebook a better place. a really nice place where everyone including elders and parents would love to spend their time at in online social networking world!

- I'm new to facebook about 5months, but I love it. I use it all the time to communicate, and to spread my sense of humor around for a few good laughs. I am very egar to see my facebook years from now. It would sure be something to show my kids one day, all the pictures, it would capture my life ovr all that time...Please do reconsider, it beat myspace, that proves its amazing...and as a total LAST RESOT, you could always sell it instead to a nice person who would keep the site directed in the same path u have it going towards! God Bless

If you do this you will just destroy my communication with my aunts,cousins,friends in other states. - This is the way I keep in contact with distant relatives along with friends who have gone away to out of state colleges. I will admit that I'm addicted to facebook. It's nice being able to keep in contact with everyone and share with my friends what's going on in my life. Please don't shut down Facebook. It's truly the best social network there is out there.
