A petititon againist the Region 1 split DVD release of "Grindhouse".

It was recently stated that the double-feature movie "Grindhouse" would be released separately, into its respective segments on two disc DVD sets a month apart from each other. This is the current plan:

However, this is not what we fans want. We want the film we saw in United States theatres. The amazing and enjoyable 3 1/2 hour epic that included the fake trailers, pops and scratches, and missing reels that we drove hours to see, loved, and blogged about. This proposed split is a disgrace to the magnificent work of art of Robert Rodriguez, Quentin Tarantino, and all the other directors and actors that made "Grindhouse" the movie event of the year.

We petitioners have taken a stand and decided not to purchase these split DVDs. Only until "Grindhouse" is released on DVD in its entirety, plus all the aforementioned bonus features planned for the separate releases will we purchase this film. Don't hold out on your fans.

    • At least give us the option. We all LOVED the combined versions, with the "missing reels" and trailers. Those MADE the movie. We're extremely disappointed a full theatrical version will not be available immediately, after telling dozens of friends about the incredible experience that was "Grindhouse."
