We Need the Mailrooms Petition

Are you the Author?
We, the residents of the Copeley, International Residential College,
and Lambeth Student Resident Dormitories, respectively request a
change of policy concerning the closure of the Substation Mailrooms
located in the aforementioned residencies. The residents signing
the petition below are arguing that the services provided by the
Substations are essential to their communities because our distant
locations from the central mailroom cause difficulties in the
acquisition and transportation of our mail. Contrary to belief, the
services provided by the mailing substations are an integral part
to student life.

    • The mailroom has been an integral part of the International Residential College (IRC) over the course of the past year. As a Resident Advisor in the IRC and the Prime Minister of the IRC Council, I believe that removing the mailroom will cause a lot of problems related to both the safety and security of residents walking from the Page/Emmet mailing room to the IRC, especially those with large packages.

    • I think it's ridiculous that we'd have to walk all the way to Emmet to pick up our packages. A lot of international students who have no cars order things (including furniture and wellness packages from back home) and should not have to walk that distance with a heavy box. Not to mention the rest of us.
