The sentiment was instituted by the current regime, but we need to take it to heart.
Here's how we RESTORE THE ORDER:
1) Fire the current regime-Pearlman, Pederson, Callahan and staff. Include EVERYONE ASSOCIATED WITH THE FOOTBALL PROGRAM except, perhaps, the press box staff--they haven't screwed anything up and the PA announcer has a great voice.
2) Get rid of Jim Rose and bring back Kent Pavelka. He is an apologist for Callahan and company. I'm tired of him trying to convince us that mediocrity is actually success in progress.
3) Find a firey, passionate coach who cares about and respects the paegentry and tradition of college football in general and NEBRASKA FOOTBALL specifically.
4) Bring back the option game. Why???? It is what made Nebraska unique. NOBODY ELSE GOOD RAN IT! If you were THE MAN (a quarterback, running back, lineman who was the best at it) you had one choice where you were going to attend school, NU. There are kids out there who run this offense and really don't have a place to go. NU has got to be THAT PLACE. By returning to our roots, we bring back the ONE THING we have left (other than the sellout streak) that sets us apart from every other university. The grind it out offense keeps the other offense off the field which keeps our defense rested WHICH KEEPS THE OTHER OFFENSE FROM SCORING 41 FREAKIN POINTS A GAME.
5) Hire Jason Peter and Grant Wistrom to RESTORE THE ORDER on defense. I'm sure they can teach good technique and can instill passion and fire. I'm sure they can restore the understanding of what it means to wear a black shirt.
6) Get rid of the freakin hip hop tune prior to the tunnel walk. Get rid of the fireworks. The first thing you hear before the team comes through the tunnel is the low booming sound of SIRIUS.
7) Return this prayer to the team: Dear Lord, the battles we go through life, we ask for a chance that's fair.
A chance to equal our stride, a chance to do or dare.
If we should win, let it be by the code, Faith and Honor held high.
If we should lose, we'll stand by the road, and cheer the winners go by.
DAY BY DAY, WE GET BETTER AND BETTER!
TILL WE CAN'T BE BEAT..........WON'T BE BEAT!
8) Make Tom Osborne's book "More than Winning" required reading of every freakin' recruit. Teach them that it is about the team and if you want to play for THIS team, you have got to WANT to be a Husker. You have to bleed HUSKER RED. You don't look to the future in the NFL, you look to destroy the guy lining up across from you on the NEXT PLAY!
9) Require that if are a player and you speak on camera, you do not whine, snivel or blame. You appear honest, confident and respectful. You lead! YOU LEAD!
10) Bring back the Unity Council!

- I'm currently a sophomore at UNL and I bleed HUSKER RED! This program is a disgrace to the great tradition I knew growing up in Nebraska. I completely agree with this petition, things need to change back to the way they were, the CORRECT way. Osbourne for AD if he is up for it.

- i also suggest firing the offense coordinator and bringing in Scott Frost or even Tommie Frazier. They both know how the option attack works and even has some coaching experiance in them. We really need to go back to the option run offense.

- We need to bring back the option attack and the Walk-Ons. Bill has ruined that for us. But with the help of a few former Nebraska players like Connor said, Tommie Frazier or Scott Frost, we can bring Nebraska back to it's prime, when we were actually good. Fire BILL!!!!

- Callahan MUST GO! He has destroyed our legacy. He has made the Husker Dynasty laughable, at best. He forced the entire defensive team to give up. It's not for lack of talent. Those guys are monsters out there. It's lack of leadership and it's a lack of respect for a "coach" who doesn't respect his team. I have always been a loyal fan of our Huskers. Nothing is going to change that. I'm not upset with the players. I'm furious that Callahan is such a waste of space and air the rest of us could be breathing. He knows nothing of coaching and he sure as hell knows nothing of tradition. I'm with Jim Rome who said that the honorable thing to do would be to just leave the money on the table and walk away. But, I'm afraid, Callahan is far too self-absorbed and shallow to be a big enough man to do that. Billy Boy, make room for someone qualified. Make room for someone who cares. Finally, Mr. Osborne, thank you for proving to the world what Husker love is all about!
