Dear Sharon:
Good day!
We are Sharonians Online. Let us start this letter by quoting Mr. Alfie Lorenzos write-up regarding the show in Abante-Tonite dated September 16, 2008:
Ano na ang nangyari sa Sharon. . .? . . . Ang inaasahan namin sa muling pagbabalik ni Sharon Cuneta sa bago niyang TV show ay isang show na ala-Oprah Winfrey or Ellen Degeneres show yung interview sa mga taong may nai-contribute sa movie industry o kundi man sa pagiging what and who is Sharon Cuneta now. . .
While we do not agree with some of Mr. Lorenzos statements regarding the show, we are appreciative of the article. It went to show that he is a viewer and is concerned with the welfare of the show.
With that being said, we also want to express our sentiments on how the show is going. For one thing, we are confused as to what format Sharon falls into. Is it still a talk show considering the many musical and comedic episodes or a variety show now? We are grateful for the amusement the said episodes bring, but arent there one too many? In the same article above, Mr. Lorenzo pointed out that sometimes, the show becomes a circus of sorts.
For someone with the stature of Ms. Sharon Cuneta, it does not look good. We are not happy about it. These days she has become a mere emcee of her own show rather than the host. She has taken the backseat, so does her wit and charm as a host. We know that there is more to her hosting skills than just introducing her guests and laughing with the audience. We would like to hear her talk more and have a stimulating discussion with her guests and audience.
We understand the business aspect of it. The show has become number one on its timeslot. We are very pleased with that. But cant there be a compromise? Cant the show go back to its talk and musical show format and have some of such episodes every now and then?
If ever you would consider returning to the previous format, allow us to point out two major problems in the show. First, when there were topics to be discussed with some guests, we felt that the questions or how the conversations went on did not exactly capture what the theme was all about. Sometimes the questions were not even answered directly.
Second, most of the time, the editing ruined the dialogues that went on during the taping. We are familiar with the limited time of the program. But is there a better way to condense the conversations that took place without sacrificing the essence of the discussion?
We got upset when the interview with fans was cut-out during the Mega 30 Promo episode in 2008. The show/concert, as what the Megastar said, was about the fans, for the fans, and because of the fans. Yet when it was aired, the fans interview was sacrificed. Even during the Fans Day episode in 2006, the Megastars interview with the audience the fans, was the first to suffer. We were taken for granted in that aspect. We were saddened by it.
We are hoping that you will look into these concerns. As Sharonians, we will continue to support the show no matter what happens. But please, help us make the necessary changes for the betterment of the show and the safeguarding of the valued name of its host, the Megastar.
Please also take into account the satisfaction of the non-fan viewers. They may not be that understanding as much as we are once they become weary of the show.
We hope that you could look into these matters.
Thank you very much!

- It's about time... Sharon is The Megastar for something... she does not deserve the kind of episodes normally reserved for a joke-of-a-show like SIS... Smart na si Mega kaya dapat pang-smart na uli ang show niya!

- pls change the set design also. It looks the same since the show started. And it's no where close to Oprah's nor Ellen's studio settings. Mukha tuloy walang budget ang show.

- it has somehow became a nonsense because of the repetitiveness of each episode...why not do an Oprah type of show or an Ellen Degeneres? It's not that they will imitate the shows itself, its just that many will enjoy or perhaps benefit on the show.

- I wish she will do her best to lose weight....o kaya pa lipo tulad ng ibang magagandang artista. Lalong pananabikan ang paglabas ni Megastar sa mga shows pag nangyari yon. Ang ganda pa naman nya.

- WE THINK SHARON SHOULD REALLY SERIOUSLY CONSIDER LOSING WEIGHT, WE THINK SHE OWES IT TO HER LOYAL AUDIENCE TO LOOK GOOD AND HIRE A GOOD STYLIST. SOME OF SHARON'S WARDROBES JUST LOOKS AWFUL CONSIDERING HER STATURE.

- I'd like 'Sharon' to return to its original format, a musical talkshow. i hope the director will make use of Sharon's singing ability and gift of gab. We all want an informative and interesting show. We love Sharon.

- Sharon should lose weight ASAP! THe show needs to have the same format as before when she got back from Boston. They should have one on one interviews again and less stand up comedians!
