This petition is to show you all of the Ravens and football fans in general that believe Troy Smith has what it takes to be the starting quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens.

The 2006 season for the Baltimore Ravens was great, it ended in the playoffs with a 13-3 record.

The Ravens entered the 2007 season as one of the teams to beat in the NFL. As the season went by, the Ravens slowly fell apart. The injuries to the defense was definitely a problem, but our biggest problem was the starting quarterback position. Steve McNair has had a great career, but we saw him fall apart this year. It is time for him to hang up his cleats. He fumbles, throws interceptions, struggles to turn, and most importantly is unable to move in the pocket even a little. He seemed to get injured every time he was knocked down. After he was sidelined by injuries, back up Kyle Boller took over. We saw him do what he does best and that was be a back up.

Troy Smith entered the NFL this last season as a rookie out of Ohio State. He was the Heisman trophy winner and led his college team to an undefeated regular season. He is incredibly accurate, has arm power, and can scramble which allows him to move around in the pocket and escape sacks.

He has the ability to lead a team, he has the tools to be a great quarterback, and in week 17 he proved it by defeating the Pittsburgh Steelers in his first ever start as the Ravens quarterback.

Steve McNair is done and Kyle Boller is at best a great back up. This petition is to show you, the Ravens staff, that the fans BELIEVE in Troy Smith and that you should too. Give Troy Smith a chance and let him show you what he can do for the Baltimore Ravens.
