VIZ Media to redub Sonic X and One Piece

We are hardcore fans of the anime One Piece and the Video game series Sonic the Hedgehog. And as a great anime dubbing company who gave us shows like Ranma 1/2, InuYasha, Zatch Bell! and Naruto in great quality dubs I might add. We call upon you to save two animes that were to us highly ruined in the hands of 4Kids Entertainment.

SONIC X
With Sonic X. 4Kids made their first mistake by not hiring the already excisting voice cast to keep continuity between the games and show, especially with Sonic and after the original voice Ryan Drummond called 4Kids to request to be the voice of Sonic for the fans, they rejected him because he is in California and not New York and he even offered to come down there and stay there as long as needed at his own expence, they still denied him. Instead of finding good quality voices, they used their own employees gave the characters horrible voices, they made Sonic mellow and emotionless, Tails girly, Rouge old sounding, Vector dorky, Cream screechy, Gamma out of character, and a lot more, and also fully replaced music with some new music that is very annoying. Later it got worse when Sega replaced the true original voice actors with those fake and ear bleeding ones. We call upon you to redub Sonic X and possibly air it on Toonami so it can be on a place and timeslot where more from the original Japanese version and the games are allowed to be shown and release the new version to DVD and if it sells well, release uncut afterwards. If you do this, you do not have to use ALL the original VAs from the games, but we would Highly like Ryan Drummond to come on as Sonic as he is the main character of the show, for the other characters, please give new voices that are both closer to the original game voices and closer to the original Japanese voices.


ONE PIECE:
For One Piece. Al Kahn (CEO of 4Kids) said that One Piece would get the minimal nessicary edits to air, however after seeing how the dub was, we highly feel that was a lie to keep us from harassing them about it. We've seen TV-Y7 aired anime that aired on Network television and Cable and honestly, we can say that 4Kids edited WAY more then needed, the changed regular guns to water guns and extending hammers, the left out episodes and edited episodes together. And also gave the anime voices that are just as bad if not worse as what we got on Sonic X. If you please redubbed this, give it new better quality voices and please do the best you can to keep it true to the original story line and as little americanization as possible.

We know if you redub these animes you will do a good job, you have given us so much and given it to us and Very good quality, better then we usually expect these days.

    • I've been searching for so long to see One Piece episodes that haven't been edited by 4Kids. In Sonic X, the voices of these characters should sound more like their age voices.

    • It would be a lot better if VIZ Media would redub One Piece and Sonic X. VIZ Media is a more honest company than 4Kids and brings the anime to it's original roots just like they did with Naruto.

    • My little clients in my babysitting service love pirates and imaginary hedgehogs that can talk, run, and actually live like a regular person! I enjoy them myself, and am running out of good shows to watch! In the past year, 6 of my favorite shows have been cancaled!! This isn't fair! NO ONE, and I mean NO ONE should be able to do such things! Lots of people like those shows!!

    • Those animes defintly need doctors after what 4Kids have done to them. Sonic X would have succeeded if 4Kids hired the orginal Sonic VA's in the first place. As for One Piece, I can't stand the 4Kids dubbed version for a second. If those VIZ Media guys are as good as everyone says, then you all have my support on this.

    • Sonic X was a show that i would actually, voluntarily, wake up early to watch. Recently though, i have a feeling the new voices aren't really helping me enjoy it as much as i used to. "That sounds so wrong!" is what i say when i hear creams too high-pitched voice and Sonic's voice that just doesn't, to me, fit his long-living personality. I think it will do much good if VIZ Media would re-dub Sonic X! I know my siblings and i would greatly appreciate it.

    • After seeing how many forum boards and petitions such as these have been demanding that another company dub Sonic X, I think you stand to make a great sum of money by dubbing the show yourself and especially by making the DVD's. Additionally, 4Kids no longer airs Sonic X and Cartoon Network currently has Once Piece so it could very well be done.

    • I love this show, and Viz just completely ruined it. Luffy sounds like a girl, Ussop like an old man. They took out all drama and the voice acting is lifeless. Bring back the original one Piece, I would love to see the REAL show in English.
