We the undersigned insist that the FIA (Fйdйration Internationale de l'Automobile) ignore those persons who might insist that you reconsider the decision made to add 25 seconds to the finishing time of Lewis Hamilton (McLaren-Mercedes) in the Formula 1 Belgium Grand-Prix (07th September 2008). We believe the decision that has been made to be correct
The rules state that Lewis Hamilton had to give position back to Kimi Raikkonen, which he did..... just. They also state that NO advantage should be gained by cutting corners and chicanes. Before Hamilton, through the use of slipstreaming, got position one back he was in a more advantageous position, i.e. closer to the back of the leading car, than he would have been had he NOT cut the corner. He then went on to gain further advantage over the leading car by slipstreaming and then overtaking it. Had he either NOT cut the corner or given back the advantage he had gained he would NOT have been able to carry out an overtaking move until probably later in the lap. The punishment should stand AND the driver should be spoken to or fined for his cheating actions.

- How can Lewis have gained advantage over Kimi when the latter failed to finish. Everyone who finished had advantage over Kimi.

- It's obvious he still took advantage of the situation. That specific point has most likely altered the complete outcome of the race.

- This is made in protest at the number of idiots who seem to think that Hamilton did nothing wrong. Ideally, there would be no reason to defend the stewards, but sometimes punishments are necessary to prevent repeat offenders. Hamilton was never punished last season for all manner of offences, and seems to think he can get away with anything!

- LH needs to know that he is not above the law - even if he did get away with "murder" last season.

- Excellent. I hope the Hamaniacs also appreciate that a drive-through penalty (which is effectively what he got) cannot be appealed against.

- All you ferrari fans should read the article about how DE MONTEZEMELO became 'the made man'he is today with the help from his Italian 'Al Capone' friends. And when such a man runs around in F1 we all should believe it's a honest business? Yeah right.
