I'm here as a hunter and bush-craft enthusiast who is fascinated in making and using the stone age weapon known as the atlatl. Used by the Cro Magnun, the Azteks, and the Australian tribes the atlatl has plenty of potential as a hunting tool. It can travel far, fly fast, and penetrates deep enough to bring down animals such as deer, black bear, and even wild boar. The state of Alabama so far is one of the very few place here in the US that allows deer hunting with a spear and the atlatl is no exception. I don't see why we shouldn't allow it because humans have been using these weapons for thousands of years. Plus we did surprisingly well with such a weapon. In fact deer can easily be taken with the right practice and all. Take for me I believe it would be an awesome idea.

    • the Atlatl is an amazing yet simple hunting tool that is fun to use and is very effective. ive been practicing for years yet i have the greatest urge to go hunting with it. Even if this is for Virginia and im in Colorado this would be a great start for legalization.

    • The Atlatl is as powerful and accurate as any Bow and would make a fine addition to any states hunting arsenal.
